When performing a SELECT query using SQLWorkbench/J SQL client on Microsoft Windows, Chinese characters are not rendered correctly.
It appears when running SQLWorkbench/J on Windows and connecting to Snowflake via the JDBC driver, the data is not getting encoded in UTF-8; therefore, invalid characters are rendered in the client.
Insert a Java option
-Dfile.encoding=UTF-8 to force encoding to UTF-8 in SQLWorkbench/J. The command to launch the client will appear as follows:
java -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8 sqlworkbench.jar
